Photographs from First Visit

First Visit

My first trip to Woodside was successful because i managed to capture a variety of photographs of the animals. I gained inspiration from my research into animal photographers and used this in my own work. I went to three of the displays they put on including 'Meet the Lemurs', 'The Amazing Animal Show' and 'Cat Feeding'.

Meet the Lemurs was interesting and i gathered some good photos because i was able to include the staff and public in the images to document how the lemurs interact with the audience.

Unfortunately in The Amazing Animal Show i wasn't able to collect any good photos because the location was dark and i wasn't able to set my camera to a speed in which i could hold it without camera shake.

Cat Feeding was busy so i found it hard to find a good area where i could get some decent photographs, but i managed to stay to the edge of the line of people and have a clear view of the animals. I concentrated on capturing how the staff feed them and gathered close ups of them eating there food for detail.

For my next visit i plan on doing my interview and asking the staff if i could go behind the scenes to collect more photos on what the staff do at Woodside.

First Visit Preparation

I will be visiting Woodside Saturday 14th March to begin taking photographs. I plan on getting as close to the animals as possible and capturing their different characteristics, while attending the displays they have on. I was thinking of focusing on taking the photos for this visit, and the next visit i do will be to interview a person(s).
